The fixed collection configuration of the Afrika Museum in Berg en Dal has undergone a significant makeover. No more dark rooms that used to scare the living daylights out of young children. In a cheerful mix of ethnographics and modern art, and with a lot of light and colour, conservator Annette Schmidt introduces the public to lively Africa. ‘We want to break free from the well-known stereotypes.’
