Photographer Jeroen Toirkens was commissioned by the museum to make a report on nomadic communities in Mongolia. In that part of the world, shamanism has a long tradition and to this day plays a role in daily life.
The idea of different worlds existing alongside our own is very common, all over the world and through the ages.
Even so, the way they are perceived differs from one culture to the next. This knowledge is often considered secret, and only a few people, such as shamans, will have access to it.
