Accessibility - Afrika Musuem

Accessibility

Our museum is for everyone, regardless of background, age or disability.

Wereldmuseum Berg en Dal plays a central role in the society and therefore does everything it can to make the museum accessible to as many people as possible.

The building

The museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits, with regularly changing temporary exhibitions and permanent displays of traditional African objects and its large collection of contemporary African art. Objects that reflect customs and traditions. They tell stories about universal human themes like mourning, celebration, ornamentation, prayer, conflict; stories that inspire visitors to find out more about the huge cultural diversity to be found in the world.

Wheelchairs & mobility scooters

Both the main building and the outdoor museum are wheelchair accessible. The first floor can be reached by using the elevator. The African villages are accessible by paved paths.

The museum has 3 disabled parking spaces, which are located on the street side. The wheelchair attendant has free access.

More specific information about the accessibility of the building and the facilities can be found on the website of DUX
